Would you still do, what you do, IF?

One busy night after 2 long hours of traffic I lie on my bed, to start swiping across all the social media. A picture caught my eye. After this tiring day - this one image brought out the think-tank to dig deep into the picture.

"3 Idiots" is one movie that has impacted us all to the core. All of us relate to it, even 15 years after its release. What makes it so likable? The reality, it's closeness to our lives. Isn't it?

Should we argue?

We know Rancho is brilliant, and he didn't choose to be rich, or famous! But just lived the way he loved in a remote place. The other two friends chose everything. We were jealous of their lavish careers and felt bad for Rancho.

A decade later, now that we are all Farhan & Raju Rastogi - "Dheere dheere samajh aa raha hai rancho sabse dur ladakh kyu settle hogaya!"

On another lazy weekend, I come across some travel vlogs, where the vlogger travels to the remotest forests of the earth. They travel across the poorest of the unknown countries. tribes and regions. Like a normal day, I wasn't jealous of the life the travel vlogger is living. Instead, what I envied the most was the happiness those tribes had after baking a potato for an hour, with an age-old fire technique after hunting it from the forest. With that happiness on their faces, they dance to the tunes of the cooking fire and wait with joy till the food is baked.

They eat with a passion, with happiness in their tribe. Can something match the happiness, and satisfaction they live with? Shouldn't I be envious of that?

Now you understand, what am I talking about...

We all struggle through life ( This in itself would be epic if we start talking). We work hard to make money, buy things, make family, eat at nice places, and run around the world in search of our inner answers. This one line isn't enough to explain the struggle.

Our Maldives trip is a trigger after seeing a friend post her honeymoon pics. My Rishikesh trip is some vlogger vibing at Kailash Kher on the Ganges. The car I drive is the measure of the amount of my success. The brands I wear, from shoes to deodorant and underwear which others can't see are all the parameters to judge my life. Everything I am, and do is measured by my level of success. Do we need all of this? Aren't we all jealous of the happiness you see in the poorest faces?

Yet, we wouldn't dare to go towards that basic way of living life with contentment. When we understand what's all minimum needed to be content, it wouldn't still be late, yet we wouldn't choose to go there.

If God appears today and says "Bhakta, this is what is enough for you to live happily", and preaches to you all about that simple joy of life.

Would you still do, what you do!?
